Join CCA for a day of fun and rejuvenation before the conference begins. Four different sections – Renew, Reconnect, Recharge, and Rev-Up – will provide attendees with a variety of self-care and fitness activities to enjoy throughout the afternoon. Come as you are or don your favorite exercise attire if you’re ready to go “all in”!

Reconnect

Meet up with old friends and make new industry contacts in the Reconnect lounge. Try a smoothie, enjoy a cup of tea, or visit the healthy snack station, which are all part of this relaxed and engaging networking area.

Rev-Up

Ready to get your heartrate up and engage in some friendly competition? If the answer is “YES!,” then the Rev-Up area is the place for you. Fun fitness challenges include:

  • Longest plank

  • Most push-ups in a minute

  • Most sit-ups in a minute

  • Longest wall-sit

Prizes will be awarded to the top male and female finishers in each category!

Renew

CCA is pleased to partner with Kelly Berry, a functional movement therapist and healthcare strategist, to guide attendees through six unique 20-minute sessions in the Renew area.  From stress-relieving breathwork to gentle stretching and tension-relieving techniques, Kelly will provide a range of movements and focuses for all fitness levels to enjoy.  Self-care is the best care; step into the Renew space and make yourself a priority.

Recharge

Treat yourself to an 8-minute mini massage from one of our three certified massage therapists. Enjoy the aromatherapy option to fully immerse yourself into a state of relaxation. Each massage chair will be fully sanitized between each session. Sign-up for a specific time or walk-up if you see an open chair. Limit to one massage per attendee.

1:30PM – 1:50PM: NECK, JAW, AND WRIST RELIEF

We’re all guilty of too much texting and too much time at our desks. Are you ready to relieve and soothe neck tension and release stress in your hands and wrists? Join this session for a guided series of breathing exercises combined with acupressure and self-massage to soothe fatigued areas in the face and neck. All exercises can be followed from a comfortable seat.

Difficulty Level/Vibe: Restorative

Recommended Attire: Come as you are!

2:00PM - 2:20PM: BREATHWORK 101: CORE OPTIMIZATION  

Ever wanted to know how to get the benefits of an abdominal workout with your breath alone? Want to learn how you can lower your stress levels and optimize your breathing patterns? Curious how attentive breathing can alleviate back pain? In this session you will learn exercises to observe your breathing pattern and help build your lung capacity.

Difficulty Level/Vibe: Mild, invigorating

Recommended Attire: Come as you are!

2:30PM - 2:50PM: FULL BODY STRETCH

Enjoy a well-rounded stretch by combining yoga-inspired postures with deep guided breathing to lengthen through the side body, stretch your hamstrings, open hips, and gently twist. This session is ideal for those who want to move in a mindful way that is equal parts warming, invigorating, and restorative.  Movements in this session may incorporate standing and reclining positions. 

Difficulty Level/Vibe: Refreshing-restorative

Recommended Attire: Comfortable clothing

Props: Yoga mat

 

3:00PM – 3:20PM: SHOULDER PAIN BE GONE

Are your shoulders beginning to hike towards your earlobes? Is there a tightness in your upper back that seems to linger? Are you looking for ways to relax and still be able to bring your A-game? In this session, attendees will learn how to use a tune-up ball as a prop for melting away tension around and behind the shoulder blade, and will incorporate therapeutic postures, movements, and breath to generate heat in the shoulders to strengthen, stabilize, and mobilize through the shoulder girdle.

Difficulty Level/Vibe: Spicy (heat generating) but therapeutic in nature

Recommended Attire: Comfortable/exercise clothing

Props: Yoga mat; Tune-up ball

 

3:30PM - 3:50PM: OPEN STRETCHING WITH NATURE RECORDING

 

4:00PM – 4:20PM: ALIGNMENT 101: FUNDAMENTAL CORE-FOCUSED FLOW

Ready to create some heat and feel your abdominals light up? Want to improve your posture and support your low back? In this session, we will do both! From standing to reclining, this session will give you the building blocks for greater body awareness to find greater alignment throughout the body for balanced movement, improved breathing, and low back support by strengthening your abdominals. This session will combine therapeutic breathing incorporating tune-up and Pilates balls, a series of Pilates-inspired core movements, and gentle backbends to find a healthy balance between front and back body. This session can also be enjoyed from a seated or standing position with modifications offered by the instructor.

Difficulty Level/Vibe: Spicy, invigorating, refreshing

Recommended Attire: Comfortable/exercise clothing

Props: Yoga mat; Pilate’s ball

 

4:30PM - 4:50PM: FULL BODY FLOW

Ready to stitch all the pieces together? This signature session will incorporate breathwork, alignment, core engagement, stretching, and stability into one 20-min flow at a fluid pace. This combination of therapeutic yoga and Pilates-inspired movements will get your blood pumping and set a deliberate and steady pace to invite in challenge and optimized breathing to leave you feeling refreshed, renewed, recharged, and restored. This is a full body flow for all skill levels; beginners are welcome! Props are optional.

Difficulty Level/Vibe: Moderate pace, mild to spicy
